Barry Bonds is an iconic name in Major League Baseball As a seven-time MVP and a record-breaking home run leader, Bonds has made a huge impact on the sport. His skill and power in the batter’s box have earned him the admiration of millions of baseball fans around the world. Barry Bonds was born in Riverside, California, in 1964, and grew up playing baseball with his father, Bobby Bonds, who was a major league outfielder. Barry grew up dreaming of playing in the majors. By the time he was 18, Barry was already showing his potential in the minor leagues. He was quickly promoted to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1986, and won the National League MVP award the following year. Barry Bonds went on to have an incredible career for the Pirates and San Francisco Giants. He was a consistent and feared power hitter, and absolutely dominated the home run record books. Most Walks: Bonds holds the record for most walks in a single season (232 in 2004) and in a career (2,558). 4. Most Home Runs in a Single At-Bat: Bonds hit the most home runs in a single at-bat when he hit his 71st and 72nd homers in one inning in 2001. 5. Most Consecutive Home Runs: Bonds holds the record for most consecutive home runs, hitting 8 in a row in 2004. Barry Bonds is one of the greatest baseball players in history.
