Abu Abdullah Ibn Battuta was an Islamic scholar and traveler who was born in Morocco in the year 1304 and is considered one of the greatest adventurers of all time He is known for his extensive travels that took him all over the known Islamic world, and is said to have travelled at least 75,000 miles and visited more than 44 countries. Ibn Battuta was interested in different cultures, languages, religions and laws and wrote extensively about his experiences in a book now known as the Rehla, or “Book of Travels”.
