Akbar the Great is an iconic figure in Indian history best remembered for his grand political and military triumphs, but also as a wise and tolerant ruler He was the third Mughal Emperor in India, who ruled from 1556 to 1605 and was a major force behind the consolidation of Islamic rule in the region.
Akbar was born in UP, India in 1542, and acceded to the throne at the age of 13. Having inherited a sprawling empire, he set out to consolidate and secure his rule by establishing a strong and effective military force. He soon emerged as a powerful military leader and established his rule through his campaigns against the Rajputs and Afghans. But he is also remembered for his tolerant approach towards his subjects, allowing for religious freedom and creating a unique cultural amalgam in his court.

5. Patron of Arts and Sciences: Akbar was a great patron and supporter of the arts, literature, and sciences. He established a school of painting at his court and organized symposia dedicated to various disciplines. He also supported the translation of texts into Persian and commissioned many greatest works of art.
