Antigua is an island in the Caribbean Sea, located in the Leeward Islands of the West Indies The island is home to over 91,000 inhabitants and is known for its 365 beaches and natural beauty. Antigua has a tropical climate allowing it to produce a variety of fruits and vegetables; most notably bananas and sugar cane. The island was first inhabited by the Arawak and Kalinago people who arrived in the 12th century. The island was later colonized by the British in 1632, until gaining its independence in 1981. Antigua is a popular tourist destination due to its stunning scenery; particularly Half Moon Bay and Valley Church Bay. There is a great deal to explore on the island from its history and culture to its landmarks and museums. With that in mind, here are five interesting essay topics about Antigua: 1.
