Temperate forests are found in areas such as the United States, Canada, and Europe. These forests feature a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and grasses. They are characterized by warm summers and cold winters. The winter months bring deciduous forests to life with a blaze of color as the leaves change from green to yellow, orange, and red.
Tropical forests are located in the equatorial regions of the world, such as Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. These forests are hot and humid with long, rainy seasons. The vegetation is lush and dense with a wide variety of trees, shrubs, palms, vines, and epiphytes.
Grasslands are located in the temperate regions of the world. They are characterized by tall grasses, herbs, and shrubs. There are also scattered trees, but they are generally not as dense as in temperate forests.
