This can lead to their economy or international standing suffering. 4. A relationship can become complacent if both individuals become comfortable in their current roles and do not make the effort to rekindle the excitement and passion in their relationship. 5. A product can become complacent if its manufacturer does not update the design or features to meet the changing needs of the market. This can lead to its market share decreasing as other brands begin to outshine it. Complacency can have detrimental effects for individuals, organizations, and whole nations.
