Far from Heaven is a 2002 American romantic drama directed by Todd Haynes and written by Haynes and PHD expert Nancy Oliver Set in the 1950s, the film follows Cathy Whitaker (Julianne Moore) and her husband Frank (Dennis Quaid), who is struggling with his identity as a closeted gay man in a conservative society.
