Henry Morrison Flagler was an American industrialist who, along with John D Rockefeller, founded Standard Oil. He was born on January 2, 1830, in Hopewell, New York, and began working with Rockefeller in 1867. One of Flagler's most prominent accomplishments was the development of railways and resorts along the state of Florida's east coast.
