Middle Eastern studies is a field of study focused on the culture, history, religion, law, politics and economics of the region known as the Middle East It covers a vast area extending from North Africa to Central Asia, according to the geographical definition. Middle Eastern studies is also sometimes known as “Islamic studies” or “Arabic studies.” The area comprises 22 countries of diverse religious backgrounds including Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and ancient polytheistic faiths.
