Edzard Ernst is a German-born British professor of complementary medicine He was born in 1948 in Germany and earned a PhD. in medicine from Hanover University in Germany in 1978. He is currently the Professor of Complementary Medicine at the School of Health Sciences, Peninsula Medical School, University of Exeter.
Professor Ernst has been a proponent of evidence-based medicine and a strong critic of alternative medicine and many of its practitioners.
