An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a written document created for a student with a disability and is part of the special education program in the United States It is designed to ensure that the student receives an appropriate education to meet their individual educational needs. It lays out the goals and services which will help the student progress. The IEP is developed by a team that includes the student’s parent or guardian, teachers, school administrators, the student (if appropriate) and special education professionals.
