Ritzer is an analytical school of thought founded by American sociologist George Ritzer in the late 1970s The school of thought was devised to explore the structures and patterns of modern society, with its primary focus upon the media and its influence over the way in which we think and act. It is closely associated with the work of French sociologist Jean Baudrillard but also has strong links to media theorists like Marshall McLuhan and Stuart Hall.
