For example, a person with visual neglect may be unable to attend to objects on one side of their field of vision, resulting in careless mistakes while writing or reading. It can also cause a person to walk in a straight line in one direction, when they need to make turns.
Examples of Visual Neglect:
1. Inattention to one side of the body: A person with visual neglect may ignore instructions or neglect to carry out activities on one side of the body, such as brushing their teeth, combing their hair, or getting dressed.
2. Neglecting one side of the environment: For example, a person may ignore objects on one side of the room or fail to notice people in their peripheral vision.
3. Difficulty with navigation: A person with visual neglect may be unable to recognize landmarks or turns in the road, making navigation difficult.
4. Poor balance and coordination: As a result of neglecting one side of the environment, a person with visual neglect may have impaired balance and coordination, making it difficult to walk or climb stairs.
