Bowl Champion Series (BCS) is a tournament series of college football games that have been played since 1998 This series of games is the most prestigious in college football and determines the two best teams in the nation based on rankings. It consists of four different games: the Rose Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Orange Bowl, and the Fiesta Bowl. These games are all played in different parts of the country, usually in late December or early January, and usually feature teams from the top conferences in college football. By the end of the series, the two teams with the best records will be crowned national champions.
The five best examples of bowl champion teams in college football are the 2004 University of Southern California Trojans, the 2007 University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, the 2008 University of Florida Gators, the 2011 Auburn Tigers, and the 2013 Florida State Seminoles.
The 2004 USC Trojans won the BCS National Championship with a perfect 13-0 season by defeating the Oklahoma Sooners 55-19. They were led by quarterback Matt Leinart and running back Reggie Bush, both of whom won the Heisman Trophy that year.
The 2007 UL-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns finished the season with a 15-0 record and won the BCS National Championship by defeating the Ohio State Buckeyes 38-24. This was the first national championship for a team outside of the traditional college football powerhouses.

The 2013 Florida State Seminoles capped off a perfect 14-0 season with a 34-31 victory over the Auburn Tigers in the BCS National Championship. It was the Seminoles first national championship since the 1999 season and their third in school history.
