What are Indigenous People?
Indigenous people, also known as first peoples, are those ethnic groups who have historically been living in a particular geographic area since before the arrival of Europeans or other foreigners They have retained their own cultural traits and practices, despite often facing marginalization due to their minority status. Indigenous communities have their own languages, beliefs, values, and customs that are distinct from those of the wider society. They often have a long history of relationship with their surrounding environment, and are often found to possess a deep knowledge of and appreciation for the land, many having a spiritual or even mystical approach to it.

The Maori are renowned for their arts, particularly their traditional carving, tattooing, and weaving styles. They are also known for their unique sense of hospitality and for their impressive traditional knowledge of the sea, which includes navigation and fishing techniques.
3. The Native Americans: The Native Americans are the Indigenous people of the Americas, located in both North and South America. They are known for their close relationship with nature, and for their traditional use of medicinal plants. Other aspects of their culture are traditionally spiritual, with many Native American tribes having their own creation stories, rituals, and beliefs.

Other aspects of Sami culture include traditional song and music, storytelling, and shamanism.
